Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry
The mission of the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR), as an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is to serve the public by using the best science, taking responsive public health actions, and providing trusted health information to prevent harmful exposures and disease related to toxic substances.

Center for Environmental Information and Statistics (CEIS)
Learn about the air quality, water quality, drinking water safety, hazardous wastes or toxic releases in your community by making "one-stop" on the CEIS Web site, to get an environmental profile report. You can also learn about the quality of the data in these reports.
Quickly make a detailed map showing the sources of pollution in your community. You can also learn about the types and amounts of pollutants that have been released in your community;
Browse through our digital library of environmental quality reports and maps describing conditions in cities, states, the nation and other countries. You can electronically search through dozens of these reports to get information on a specific place or topic.

Center for Watershed Protection

Dedicated to funding new and cooperative ways to protect and restore watersheds, this site offers articles from the journal, Watershed Protection Techniques, background on local watershed partnerships, and information on watershed related training.

Educating Young People About Water

This site contains materials designed to help educate young people about water.  Materials can be search by grade level or subject, and a brief summary of products and ordering information is available.

 


EJC Coalition

The Environmental Justice Coalition (EJC) seeks to develop an Environmental Justice Act (EJA) to provide the framework for protecting communities with the poorest health, greatest concentration of environmental pollutants or least economic development from additional sources of pollution. The EJC will also develop an EJA that will provide communities with the poorest health, greatest concentration of environmental pollution or least economic development with mechanisms to attract sustainable development projects. The EJA will provide communities with the means to participate in the environmental permitting process and will provide applicants for environmental permits with certainty regarding site selection.

Environmental Working Group (EWG)

The Environmental Working Group (EWG) is a not-for-profit environmental research organization dedicated to improving public health and protecting the environment by reducing pollution in air, water and food.

Metro Louisville Air Pollution Control District

For more than 50 years, the Air Pollution Control District has worked to ensure cleaner air for the residents of Jefferson County. The goals of the agency are twofold: ensure healthy air for breathing while helping local industries and businesses meet local, state and national air emission standards.

The Chemical Scorecard

Locator Scorecard can give you a detailed report on chemicals being released from any of more than 17,000 manufacturing plants, or a summary report for any of over 7,000 zip codes, 2,000 counties, 50 states, or the entire country. Search for a facility or area by name, or use the maps.
