Clean-Air Crusaders

The seeds of Eboni Cochran’s clean-air activism are planted in a memory that still makes her grimace: of childhood trips from Bloomington, Ind., to her grandparents’ home in Louisville’s West End near Chickasaw Park. “We would smell these really horrible odors,” she says. “Of course, at the time, I didn’t know it was chemicals.”
